The problem is, that’s just not possible. More realistically, when you think of working out, what do you think of? Do you think of a pain or pleasure? Do you think of something that takes little effort or takes a lot of time?

I’m assuming that if you’re like everyone else, there is one of a few issues that you are dealing with. Either you know you SHOULD workout but aren’t doing so. Or you are working out but inconsistently, meaning you are not doing it as often as you should (kind of like a part time job). Or you are working out and your workouts are either taking too long, producing less than your expected result, or some combination of either.

You are not alone AND WHO CAN BLAME YOU. Life is busy. In fact, you are part of the majority. AND IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT.

Now, when I say majority, I mean majority of the people who work out or who have an intention to get moving. I am not referring to the ‘majority’ of people who just don’t work out and have absolutely no intention on working out. This conversation is not for those people…

I am specifically talking to the people who WANT the result but are having one of the issues we talked about above. I am talking to the people who want to know how in the heck to get back to working out with consistently and working for a specific result. I’m also talking to the people who want to transform their current workouts into addictive mini sessions that produce outstanding results and leave you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next workout. Doesn’t sound possible, does it? Well, read on.

I want to put something out there for you. This is no revelation in thought but I want you to think about this. Have you heard of the 80/20 rule? It says that 80% of your result comes from 20% of your efforts. Yes, I know it sounds cliché but there is some truth to it. What if you could eliminate the 80% of the workout that produces least amount of the result? And what if you could take the 20% that produces 80% of the result and supercharge it so you are achieving an off the chart type of result that could exceed your expectations---WOULD YOU DO IT? WOULD THAT BE A REVELATION?

SUNNY DAYS MAKE FOR BAD WORKOUTS

In 1998 I was in the gym and it was an incredibly beautiful day with the sun beaming in. I could not STAND the thought of spending 2 hours in the gym while the world outside was calling my name. I began to try to come up with ways to justify leaving. But as much as I wanted to, I couldn’t let myself down. I had to work out like I promised I would.

(I HAD THE RESULT BUT IT TOOK 2 HOURS)

But a thought occurred to me. I asked myself how I could eliminate certain aspects of my routine and combine certain other aspects of my routine so that I could get out in a fraction of the time. And I figured it out. The only thing was, I felt guilty because I knew that I was supposed to spend 2 hours in the gym. I mean, that’s what I was taught. If you wanted the result, you would have to put the time in.

But instead of going back to my 2 hour routines the next day, I kept doing my new routine that left me feeling guilty? Why was I feeling guilty you ask? Simply because I was no longer putting the time in that I thought was necessary to achieve the results that I wanted. I wanted to be ripped and to have a chiseled body with 6 pack abs that would turn heads when I took off my shirt at the beach. EXPAND…

It was over for me. I could NEVER go back to the long boring workouts that sucked my valuable time out of my life. And then I designed a way to do the routine at home so even when I couldn’t get to the gym I could accomplish my routine. The problem was, I just ‘knew’ I was going to get fat and out of shape. I mean it was inevitable because I was literally in and out of the gym in ‘minutes.’ My routine wasn’t long enough to produce meaningful results---

or so I thought!!!

Incredibly, months later, I couldn’t believe my own result. I was literally achieving a WAY better result and the time of my routine had been cut down by 80%...LITERALLY. It got to the point where my friends were asking me what the heck was happening to me. I know it sounds like exaggeration but that’s what happened.

And what was even funnier was that I would get to the gym, see the people I was accustomed to seeing who were already working out, and leave before they even got through a fraction of their routine. To say the least, the question I ALWAYS got (and still do) was ‘Are You DONE ALREADY???’ And the BEST part was that I was achieving my result. I had NO problem accomplishing my fitness goals.

This got me curious. I began asking people I knew and didn’t know how long their workouts were taking them. The most COMMON answer was 1.5 hours. Now, this was over a year later. I could no longer relate to a 1.5 hour workout. I mean, I was spoiled AND IT WAS A COMPLETE ACCIDENT. I didn’t try to come up with a way to do this. I just wanted to get out so I could enjoy the sunshine. I just wanted to get back to my regularly scheduled life.

You Can’t Drive A Boat Without Making Waves

Ok, so after time my friends got curious. And to be honest with you, I was excited. I was getting my result consistently and EFFORTLESSLY. Yes, I was working out but they were literally ADDICTIVE sessions. I couldn’t wait to get back the next day. And I was HOOKED. I mean, you may be able to relate to a time when you were working out and addicted….like you couldn’t miss. The only difference was, I was getting my result in a fraction of the time everyone else was, and my addiction didn’t stop on Labor Day when the beaches closed. I mean, getting addicted was never the problem, but staying addicted was. I would stop working out in September only to RUSH like a madman in March to get my summer body back (Have You Been There?).

So now the question became, was I an exception to the rule. I mean, I know you are thinking that I did this and it’s probably in my genes, and it could never happen to you, right? Well, I took a handful of friends and shared with them what I was doing.

The funniest part was, I not only grabbed a few friends in the gym, I talked to a couple of people who WANTED to get back to working out but couldn’t because they just couldn’t get themselves motivated to do so. For those people, not only did I share the 2 Minute Fitness program with them, I actually wrote them guidelines on how to focus their mind on achieving a result and STICKING to it. Let me explain that. My ‘friends’ in the gym were already in the gym and doing it. BUT, my friends who were ‘contemplating’ and not in the gym yet, needed a little more ‘MENTAL’ work.

So two things happened. First and foremost, I created a very simple session on how to turn the desire of the ones not working out into action. Here’s what I mean. Many people WANT to workout but just don’t. There are specific reasons for that and I created a pre-workout mini session for them to get them to the point of not only wanting to workout, but where working out was ABSOLUTELY going to happen no matter what stood in there way. So I got them from meaning to workout to in the gym by doing a couple of simple things with them that I completely documented.

The second thing was, I took a few close people and got them doing my routine. And the best part was that they all were at different levels of ‘understanding’ and physical shape. I taught them STEP BY STEP how to do the routine. They couldn’t believe it was that easy. And yes, every single one of them achieved BETTER results than with their own workouts in much less time. And they stuck to it. And they got results.

SO WHAT?

So it is now, DATE SCRIPT. My questions to you are the following: Where are you at with your working out?
